Impasti are bread making collective workshops. Bread is much more than just food: it reflects our connection with the world, ourselves, and others. Bread-making teaches us valuable lessons about being present, engaging our senses, and the importance of sharing. The process requires patience and slowing down, which helps us connect with the moment and the others. It also involves a sensory experience that is deeply fulfilling, and it carries a universal cultural significance of sharing and community. During the festival, there will be a dedicated corner where visitors can get a taste of what bread has to teach us. This interactive space offers a creative and hands-on experience, inviting participants to engage directly with bread-making. We implemented the experience based on the feedback of the previous edition. Participants can either join all the phases of the process or just one, contributing to a collective effort.
We will split the bread making into 4 phases, every hour, with 15 stations.
14.00PM - UNION
Here the magic begins: the ingredients meet and awaken. The participants start the breadmaking process.
15.00PM - CONNECTION
Through warmth and movement they knead the bread that will be.
16:00PM - STRENGHT
With ancient gestures and folds they help the dough grow. With their hands they strengthen this collective bread
17:00PM - FORM
They shape the dough and continue the work of those who came before them, adding their own unique mark.
18:00PM - FIRE
Together we carry the dough to the oven. This transhumance recalls the ancient communal ovens.
19:00PM - SHARING
At last we taste the bread we have created together.
